Chail
Chail is a quiet hill station near (44 km) Shimla, known for the world's highest cricket ground and the historic Chail Palace hotel. Surrounded by pine and deodar trees, Chail is situated at an altitude of 2,250 m above sea level.
Tourists usually visit Shimla, Kufri and Chail in one trip and many Shimla packages offer this as well. Chail is great for a day trip from Shimla as it only takes about 2 hours to reach from the Mall Road. However, you can also stay overnight at one of the resorts for an even more enjoyable experience. How to reach Chail
Chail is very close to Shimla (47 km). From Shimla, you can reach here by taxis and buses. The nearest major railway station is at Kalka, which is 77 km away. However, a toy train runs from Kalka to Shimla and you can take this to reach Shimla. From Kalka, you can also take a bus or a taxi to reach Chail. The nearest airport is also in Shimla in the Jubbarhatti area, which is about 63 km from Chail.
