The Great Himalayan National Park is located in the Kullu region of Himachal Pradesh and is home to more than 375 species of animals, 31 species of mammals and 181 species of birds. The Great Himalayan National Park was granted the status of a national park in 1999. This beautiful location of the national park is made more attractive by the deodar and oak trees.The secluded location of the park has ensured that the villages within the park have their own culture. Each village in the park has its own deity. In addition, some festivals are held here in April, May, August and September
You need a permit to visit the Great Himalayan National Park. You can get permits for the core zone of the park at the Shamshi Head Office and Range Offices at Ropa in the Sainj Valley and Shairopa in the Tirthan Valley.
