Manikaran Sahib Gurudwara Himachal Pradesh - sacred shrine of the Sikhs on the banks of the river Parvati
The Manikaran Gurudwara is barely 15 minutes from Kasol, right on the banks of the Parvati River. It serves as an important pilgrimage centre for Hindus and Sikhs.
The place houses many temples dedicated to Lord Rama, Vishnu and Krishna besides the Gurudwara. Set amidst an enchanting mountain backdrop, the place is also known for its hot spring where a geothermal power plant has been set up on an experimental basis.

The site of Manikaran Gurudwara Sahib is believed to be the exact meditation spot of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Gurudwara is so sacred that pilgrims feel that there is no need to visit other spiritual places in India after visiting this holy place. Manikaran is not only a cherished place for the Sikhs but also holds great significance for the Hindus. There are three hot water springs in the vicinity of the famous Gurudwara, which are essentially used as holy bathing ghats. One of them is located under the Manikaran Gurudwara and the other two next to it.
According to legend, these hot springs gushed forth due to the efforts of Sheshnag when Lord Shiva was in search of the lost jewel of Goddess Parvati. To escape the wrath of Lord Shiva, Sheshnag threw away precious stones from the earth, which led to the eruption of these hot springs. Due to this mythological belief, the Manikaran Gurudwara is one of the major tourist attractions in Manali.
HOW TO GET THERE TO REACH MANIKARAN GURUDWARA:
You can catch a flight to Kullu Manali from Bhuntar airport. The distance between the airport and Manikaran Gurudwara is 34.8 kilometres. From there, you can take a local bus from Bhuntar bus stop and reach Manikaran in about 80 minutes.

According to Hindu mythology, it is believed that Manu recreated human life in Manikaran after the flood and made it a divine place. There are many temples and a gurdwara here. There are many temples of Hindu gods like Lord Rama, Lord Krishna and Lord Vishnu. The region is known for its hot springs and beautiful scenery.
